Akshay Kumar attended a wrestling show organized by Maharashtra Wrestling Association (MWA) and declared that he would sponsor money for training and traveling facilities of five wrestlers from all over India. All this so that the wrestlers don't get a setback due to financial problems. Here's one for the original Bollywood Khiladi.

Amitabh Bachchan purchased land of about 40kms from Lucknow to set up a school for girls in the name of his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. According to Amitabh Bachchan, he named it after his 'bahu' because other elders in the family said it would be right to name it after the latest entrant in the family.
Called the Shrimati Aishwarya Bachchan Kanya Mahavidyalaya, the function was attended by thousands of villagers.

Shahrukh Khan was conferred the prestigious 'Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters' title by the French government. He was presented the award in recognition for his contribution towards cinema. Other Indians bestowed with this honor include filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and writer Arundhati Roy. It was given to him by French Ambassador in India Jerome Bonnafont at the inaugural ceremony of a four-day French film festival.
The 'Order of Arts et Lettres', created in 1957, is one of the four Ministerial Honours of the French republic and was established to reward artists who have gained fame for their works in the field of arts and literature.
Preity Zinta
It came as a surprise when birthday girl Preity Zinta ended up buying the Mohali Team for a whopping $76 million (Rs. 300 crores) in the IPL bid. She won the bid for the team alongside beau Ness Wadia.
Preity considers this as a good business venture and will be taking it up seriously. Now that's a good way to celebrate her birthday which also happened to be this week.

Here's to Neil Mukesh who has become hot property post his debut film Johnny Gaddaar, that got him rave reviews. After his three film deal with Adlabs, he has signed another film Freeze where he plays a superhero. There is also a rumor that he might be starring in Kabul Express director Kabir Khan's next film with John Abraham, besides of course signing a three film deal with Percept Picture Company. Of course, all this comes after his film with Sudhir Mishra titled Tera Kya Hoga Johnny? Way to go Neil !
